Sunflower Shoes

"Sunflower Shoes"
For this creative arts project, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and do something that was not my typical craft. My friend was talking about doing this to her shoes and I thought it was a great idea. I chose to do sunflowers because I thought it would like really cute. I traced the flowers onto the shoes and then painted them in. I used multi surface acrylic paint and an oil based paint pen. At first I used a sharpie but that wasn't working too well so I switched to paint. Starting with one medium and then switching to another just                                                     shows that you might plan to use one thing to complete a task, but it                                                            might not be working and that is okay. You just find something                                                             else to use. I loved doing this project because I can use these and                                                           wear them in the future!

August 24, 2018 "Watercolor Mug" This idea I found on Pinterest and I thought it would be very cool to try. The materials needed were a container with water, a plain white mug, and nail polish. I got a plain white mug from the dollar store, and I already had the container and nail polish. The process was really simple... even though I did have a little trouble. How you do it is you fill the container up with warm water. Then you put a few drops of nail polish in (two different colors). I chose green and blue. You put the mug in for a few seconds so the nail polish can get stuck to the mug and then you pull it out and done! You want to make sure you sit it out to dry. After a few hours you can pat it dry                                       with a paper towel, but do not wipe it because that will mess it up.   I love the way my mug came out and I liked trying something that I've found online. Melted Crayons

August 28, 2018 "Melted Crayons" This creative arts project is one that I have always seen online and always wanted to do. It is definitely harder than it seems! The easy part is picking out the crayons and hot gluing them to the board. Then I used a hair dryer to melt the crayons down. I am not sure if I did not hold the board at the right angle or if I was supposed to focus the hair dryer on the tips of the board.... but this was my end product! I still like how it came out. I am thinking of putting a quote or a word on the bottom since it is empty. This project was relaxing and I loved being able to do something that I have always wanted to do.
